Australian citizens engaged by UNRWA referred to the AFP for Funding & Supporting Terrorism

Political Integrity Australia Limited has referred to the Australian Federal Police two (2) Australian citizens (current and former) UNRWA office holders for alleged funding and supporting terrorism.
These persons are alleged to have misused their roles in Gaza as senior UNRWA employees by breaching Australian national terror finance laws.
The alleged conduct concerns breaches of the Commonwealth Criminal Code, in particular -
• Sub-section 102.6(1) – Getting funds to, from or for a terrorist organisation (knowledge);
• Sub-section 102.6(2) – Getting funds to, from or for a terrorist organisation (recklessness);
• Sub-section 102.7(1) – Providing support to a terrorist organisation (knowledge);
• Sub-section 102.7(2) – Providing support to a terrorist organisation (recklessness); and
• Section 103.1 - Financing terrorism.
Alleged conduct includes directing –
• Money laundering and tax evasion, for the benefit of a proscribed terrorist organisation;
• Provision of facilities to a prescribed terrorist organisation;
• Misappropriation of humanitarian aid to a proscribed terrorist organisation; and
• Military training, and indoctrination into terrorism, of children.
